Originally titled 'Latch Locks Feature DLC Coating to Reduce Friction and Wear'
Hasco’s Z170, Z171 and Z174 latch locking units feature a diamond-like carbon coating on their functional surfaces that is designed to keep friction and wear to a minimum. The devices are used primarily on injection molds with multiple plate movements and can be subject to particularly high loads depending on component dimensions and the size of the mold. The latch locks are especially suited to use in the food and medical sectors, since production can be run without lubricants, making it compatible with a cleanroom environment.
According to the company, the coating does not lead to any dimensional changes in the functional surfaces, so the latch locking units can be fitted 1:1 to existing systems. They also offer good slip properties due to the low coefficients of friction, as well as corrosion protection.
