Quakeral 372 is a high-performance emulsifiable metalworking fluid from Quaker Chemical designed for heavy-duty machining and grinding operations. The fluid is based on proprietary ester technology and lubricates steel alloys, cast iron and cast aluminum. Applications include broaching, creep-feed grinding, gun drilling, hobbing and mapal reaming.

The fluid is designed to increase tool life, improve surface quality and lower fluid consumption. Increased sump life minimizes machine downtime, eliminates odors and reduces disposal costs, the company says. In well-maintained systems, sumps can last 12 months.

The detergent is designed to keep grinding wheels clean, which improves visibility and working conditions. Machines using the fluid are said to run cleaner with good fines-handling properties and no sticky residues.

The low-foaming micro-emulsion resists air entrapment, decreases risk of pump cavitation, and provides excellent tramp oil rejection and reduced drag-out, the company says. The fluid is free of chlorine, sulfur, phenol, nitrite and diethanolamine (DEA), and it is compatible with hard water and cold
