The PRECI-FLEX tooling system features a single base holder and multiple tooling adapters that utilize the ER collet pocket. It is designed to make lathe tooling changeovers quick, accurate and effective while ensuring maximum torque transmission and rigidity, the company says. The modular system’s conical and flat face planar interface accepts either an adapter or a standard ER collet, and enables collets, endmill holders, expanding collet chucks and shrink-fit tooling to be mounted on a single base holder.
The tooling system’s Adapter Collet Chuck, is equipped with an inside nut that enables operators to use the adapter to make the collet pocket smaller. The adapter can then clamp onto the end mill while remaining compact during machining. The chuck can also be used as a pre-settable option offline to increase setup capability. Sizes range from ER11 – ER32.
PRECI-FLEX toolholders provide repeatability within 10 microns, the company says. The system also enables tooling adapters to be interchanged between fixed and rotary base holders.
Similarly, the DECO-FLEX tooling interface is designed for the manufacture of components in the miniature range. It is intended for turning and milling centers with limited working areas.
Slim Milling Chuck Provides High Gripping Force
Big Kaiser has launched the HMCJ, a super-slim milling chuck with peripheral coolant supply, designed to support heavy-duty and finish-end-milling tasks with power and precision using ½"- or 12-mm-diameter cutters.
