High Speed Honing Machine
Sunnen Products Company’s ML-4000 Power Stroked Honing Machine is designed for bore sizing and finishing applications. According to the company, the machine is as many as 6 times faster than ID grinding and other honing processes, and also can be set up in half the time. It is said that its fast stock removal rates can allow the elimination of preliminary reaming, boring or grinding on many jobs. It also allows the operator to rough and finish in one operation.
Designed to handle workpieces of almost any size or configuration, the machine can run a variety of different parts. The design of its stones and mandrels is said to make honing keyways easier. It also can handle multiple land and tandem bores, blind end holes, thin-wall parts and heavy or oddly shaped parts.
