High-Speed Robots Feature Compact Design Yet Long Reaches

The long, slim arms of DENSO’s VM-Series six-axis articulated robots were specifically designed to be able to easily reach around tooling or peripheral equipment and into deep, narrow injection molds. Typical applications include loading and unloading molds and removing parts, as well as secondary operations such as packaging.
The high-speed robots offer reaches from 1,000 to 1,300 mm and standard cycle times of 0.89 to 0.95 sec, along with repeatability from ±0.050 to ±0.070 mm and a payload capacity of 13 kg. Standard, dust- and mistproof (IP65 wrist, IP54 body) and ISO 5 cleanroom models are available.
The VM-Series robots’ high maximum allowable moment of inertia of 0.36 kgm² at J4 and J5 and 0.064 kgm² at J6 is two and a half times greater than that of conventional robots, allowing a wider choice of end-effectors. Models are offered for either floor or overhead mounting with no special hardware required.
DENSO’s compact robot design features a small footprint and concealed electrical wiring and air lines, facilitating integration and saving valuable factory floor space. ANSI and CE compliance allows global deployment.
