Designed for high-volume production of small parts, the Hyper Quadrex 200MSY includes twin opposed turning spindles that deliver 30 hp and 5,000 rpm each. The machine features full C-axis CNC control for part positioning and contouring at a resolution of 0.0001 degree. It carries upper and lower 12-station, 24-position tool turrets for fixed and rotating tools alike. The machine can accommodate parts ranging to 13.5" in diameter. It can mill on both turrets, which are each equipped with 7.5-hp rotary tool capability.
The main and secondary spindles can operate together or separately. This enables machining of a single part on all surfaces through a coordinated “hand-off” between spindles, or simultaneous machining of two different parts. The twin turrets can also operate independently or together on the same part, so users can machine two features simultaneously or balance machining strategies. In balanced cutting, two tools work together on the same feature. Typical operations performed in this way include rough and finish turning; rough and finish milling; and opposed feature drilling, tapping or boring.

This machine can run for a long time without any operator intervention, and users can machine finished parts from slug stock or cast blanks while achieving the same high productivity as if they were machining from barstock, the company says.
