The CT450L is one of the latest models in Studer’s line of affordable ID grinding solutions, the company says. Featuring a flexible spindle arrangement, high accuracy, short cycle times, and various auto-load options, the machine is especially suited for medium-sized internal cylindrical grinding applications, the company says. These include can dies and other precision tooling, spring collets, tool holding fixtures, hydraulic components and thread ring gages.
Also from Studer, the S22 is a modular grinding platform that can be configured to suit virtually any application, the company says. Configuration options include a 24" wheel for applications involving heavy metal removal as well as high speed grinding (HSG) for increased productivity. The latter is said to be well-suited for carbide tool manufacturing.
Studer has also enhanced the capabilities of its S33 machine, which combines OD and ID grinding in a single platform. New features include a Fanuc 00i-TD control with Windows-based StuderWin software and a 10-hp, direct-drive spindle turret wheelhead for grinding complex geometries in one clamping.
Also on display is Blohm’s Aeromat, a five-axis grinder for small turbine parts. Linear motors minimize idle time and improve cycle times, while an integrated, 12-position wheel and nozzle changing system enable combining multiple wheels and abrasive types for improved performance. Additionally, the machine is capable of drilling and milling in the same setup. The offline programming system creates programs directly from part models and features full 3D simulation capability.
