One of the machines on display in MC Machinery Systems’ booth will be its newest MV series EDM, the MV4800 Advance, which features a cylindrical drive and increased travel, making it well-suited for larger part production. It offers travel of 31.5" × 23.6" × 20" and can machine workpieces as large as 53.1" × 43.3" × 20". Submerged, it can cut 20" deep.
The MV4800 Advance also includes a DMX-S digital matrix sensor and V350-V generator, which shape each spark to improve surface finish, reduce vibration and minimize electrode wear. This allows for a lower wire speed, reducing wire cost. An intelligent auto-threading systems is designed to anneal as much as 27" of wire, reducing the curl ratio to less than 10 percent, the company says.
