Big Ass Fans offers an LED fixture said to address concerns about vulnerability to dust and after-effects of processes such as welding and fabricating. The High Bay LED is designed for harsh environments such as factories, warehouse and distribution centers. Constructed of a solid piece of anodized, extruded aluminum, the light fixture features ribbed fins at the top to increase surface area. According to the company, this design enables the entire structure to act as a heat sink, moving heat away from the fixture and the LEDs. The fixture’s ability to dissipate heat is said to extend its lifespan. According to the company, the LED is predicted to maintain 70 percent of its initial light output for as long as 150,000 hrs. and offers efficiency of 110 lumens/W.

The LED fixture features narrow, regular and wide lumen maintenance trays so that light can be redirected as floor layouts change. Light distribution can be changed to 55, 85 or 105 degrees. The trays can be easily wiped down or replaced to manage accumulated dirt and debris and maintain light output. The lens trays also protect the LEDs from mishaps and hazards, reducing the likelihood of damage and the need for replacement. An easy-access panel enables users to swap out drivers and other components to update the fixture.
