Machine Combines Hard Turning, Grinding
Emag’s VLC 250 DS combines vertical hard turning and finish grinding in one setup on a single machine.
Emag’s VLC 250 DS combines vertical hard turning and finish grinding in one setup on a single machine. The machine is equipped with two grinding spindles, one for each process. Workpieces can be complete machined in a single setup to avoid clamping errors and shorten cycle times. The machine features a vertical work spindle with tools positioned below the workpieces for optimized chip flow conditions. The work spindle forms an integral part of a sturdy quill that carries out its Z-axis movement in a high-precision hydrostatic guideway. The machine’s Mineralit polymer concrete base helps to damp vibration. The tooling systems are anchored in the machine base, and the number and design of the stationary tooling systems can be adjusted to suite the machining requirement.
