Designed to machine very small parts for the medical, dental and aerospace industries, Spider’s SCI-100 Micro CNC machining center is capable of both prototype and production machining. Its small footprint makes it well-suited for laboratory or factory-floor use, and it is capable of low operating costs, the company says.
The machining center features a 280- × 280-mm work envelope; a Yaeger 10,000- to 100,000-rpm spindle with touch probe (200,000-rpm is available); an AeroTech A3200 controller; precision-ground ballscrews; a 120-V AC power supply; and a 14-tool toolchanger (28 tools optional). A fourth axis is optional. The machine offers 295- × 263- × 127-mm travel on the X, Y and Z axes, respectively. It is accurate and repeatable to 0.0015 mm across 280 mm.
