SB Machine Tools now offers the 5X-410 machining center from JapanTek equipped with a 120-degree (90 ±15-degree) tilting spindle head for five-axis, five-face applications. This machine design, combined with a fully controlled, double-worm gear driven pallet and extended linear X-Y-Z strokes enables simultaneous, multi-axis machining.
Its 16" square pallet accommodates a 16" × 16" part, and allows for full four-side and top surface machining on any 16" × 16" × 16" part. From any angle, the X-axis travel is 25.6". At spindle vertical, the Y-axis travel is 16", and the Z-axis (table surface to spindle nose) travel is 21.7". At spindle horizontal, the Y-axis travel ranges from 2.8" to 25.6", and the Z-axis travel ranges from 0" to 24".
Standard features include a 30-hp main motor, a 60-tool ATC magazine, through-spindle coolant, a full enclosure and a two-pallet APC. Standard spindle speed is 12,000 rpm; 15,000 rpm is available as an option.
The machining center offers four machining capabilities in one: five-axis machining with APC; five-face machining with APC; horizontal machining with APC; and vertical machining with APC. It is capable of precise five-axis, five-face milling, drilling and tapping, and suitable for numerous aviation, aerospace, medical, automotive, and die/mold applications.
