The company's FMB Turbo 2-20 is an automatic magazine-style bar feeder for processing bars in the diameter range of 2-20 mm and in lengths from 12 ft. to 14 ft. on CNC lathes. Equipped with a Swiss-type headstock synchronization device, peck drilling and threading on small-diameter bars is simple and done with close tolerances, the company says.
This device also allows the Turbo 2-20 to be compatible with fast moving, sliding headstock lathes. The bar feeder uses a dual bar pusher design to shorten the overall length of the bar feeder by 28” compared with the overall length of other 12-ft. magazine bar feeders.
Oil-filled guide channels provide the ideal hydro-dynamic system, while reducing noise and vibration, according to the company. These quick-change polyurethane guide channels are designed to offer fast change-overs to different size barstock. Within a few minutes, the bar feeder is converted to the new channel set.
