Manufacturing News of Note: June 2017

Nadine Crauwels has been appointed as the new President of Sandvik Coromant (Sandviken, Sweden) and will be responsible for continuing to develop the company as a supplier of tools, tooling solutions and know-how to the manufacturing industry. She will report to Klas Forsström, President of Sandvik Machining Solutions, and be a member of the Sandvik Machining Solutions Management Team.

• Liebherr to Host Seventh WZL Gear Conference – The conference will present findings from the WZL Gear Department’s research in gear design, manufacturing and testing.
• DeVry University Launches Online Training in Advanced Manufacturing – The university has collaborated with 180 Skills to offer 11 online courses in a variety of advanced manufacturing skillsets.
• Robotics Orders, Shipments Soar in North America, Setting New Records – Robotics orders and shipments saw great increases in the first quarter of 2017, notably in welding, automotive components and metals applications.
