The Walter Helicheck Basic 2 CNC measuring machine available from United Grinding features a fixed CCD backlight camera for measuring complex profiles, step lengths, diameters and clearance angles. The three-axis machine features non-contact complete measurement of the external contour of rotationally symmetrical tools, production parts and grinding wheels. Cutting edge inspection is also possible as an option. The measuring machine works with Walter’s form tool compensation (FTC) to automatically correct errors in form tool profiles so that even tight-tolerance tools can be set up in minutes, the company says. The machine is also well-suited for measuring grinding wheels.
