Houghton International’s Hocut 4440 semi-synthetic metal removal fluid platform is based on a new technology for machining and grinding said to provide performance as well as environmental benefits. This semi-synthetic platform, water-miscible metal removal fluid offers very low foaming in softer water and high emulsion stability in harder waters. The company says that the fluid’s high detergency, dispersibility and biostability make it is easy to use and maintain, lowering total cost of operation. Additionally, the fluid provides corrosion protection for both parts and machine tool.
Hocut 440 is free of boron, formaldehyde-releasing agents, secondary amines, chlorine, phenols and nitrites for environmental health and safety.
Formulated for the automotive and general machining/grinding markets, the fluid is suitable for use on ferrous metals such as cast iron, ductile iron and steels, as well as cooling for titanium grinding operations.
