Metrology Software Eases 2D, 3D Measuring
Heidenhain’s PC-based Quadra-Chek IK 5000 version 3.0.0 metrology software is designed to enable more convenient 2D and 3D measuring tasks.
Heidenhain’s PC-based Quadra-Chek IK 5000 version 3.0.0 metrology software is designed to enable more convenient 2D and 3D measuring tasks. The inspection packages builds on the company’s Metronics Quadra-Check QC5000 software with the ability to run on Windows 7 64-bit operating systems. The software also supports a new analog frame-grabber Dalsa PC2 express card to provide analog video edge-detection tools and images on Windows XP and 7 systems.
For digital camera users, the output of a camera hardware trigger synchronizes axis position with the image. Access to the Video Properties menu is available in the user interface to direct required parameters to the DirectShow Windows interface. 3D profiling capabilities offer measurement and graphic evaluation of 3D contours using multi-sensor and tactile measuring machines. This option, used for profile measurements, is capable of importing a 3D CAD file (STEP r IGES) to compare with an actual measured part. Measured points can be imported into a 2D profile within a part program, and measurement of rectangular-shaped features is also possible. Support for two-, four- and six-bay probe racks is also available.
