According to the manufacturer, Vomat micro-filtration system guarantees fluid purity to NAS 7 (3 to 5 microns) over a long period of time and warrants filter media life for as much as 1 year.
The system’s filter doesn’t fail in the case of water, slide or hydraulic oil contamination. The backwash cycle uses oil (not compressed air) and contains a fully automatic control of energy consumption and filter capacity. The sludge disposal unit called “Sedimentator” leaves only 5 percent residual oil in the sludge when machining carbide exclusively, and there is no contamination of metal chips by filter media (as used in precoat filtration systems).
There is a highly accurate temperature control of grinding oil to ± 0.2 K, low operating costs and compact design that offers a small footprint, the company says.
The micro-filtration systems can be used for carbide or HSS grinding or any mixture of the two processes.
