Wind Simplicity offers brushless permanent magnet torque motors (ST) and PM brushless high-torque motors with high-torque-to-weight ratio and low inertia loads (FC and STK). Products include PM framed and frameless motors, and frameless devices are supplied as a paired stator and rotor. Once assembled, framed PM Motors can be handled safely as functioning machines. Coupled with a resolver, the drive is said to enable high-precision positioning ranging to 1 arc minute.
Frameless STK PM brushless torque motors are said to be convenient for direct-drive motor applications because of their accuracy and compact size. Direct-drive STK motors are designed for integration into servomechanisms to improve the performance of axis control in high-torque motors. According to the company, STK PM motors increase efficiency by eliminating unnecessary system bearings and mechanical interfaces, and are highly customizable. Large-diameter hollow shafts ranging to 90 mm ID such as wires, tubes or other shafts can pass through the drive.
The motors’ benefits include high dynamics and accuracy, no reducer or backlash, low maintenance, and noise reduction. They offer continuous torque ranging from 14.6 to 2708 Nm continuous in natural convection depending on size, and to 6,100 Nm in fluid cooling. Six external diameters ranging from 145 to 800 mm are available, along with internal diameters ranging from 56 to 630 mm. Offered windings range from 30 to 1,500 rpm.
