Sheffield Measurement’s Sigma Arm is now available throughout the company’s North American distribution network. The six-axis, portable arm CMM is constructed of carbon fiber and aluminum, and it is designed for optimal stiffness with minimal weight.

Portable arm CMMs are useful for measuring large objects where bringing the CMM to the workpiece is more practical than bringing the workpiece to a stationary CMM.  This product can be used to inspect sheet metal, tubes, plastics, wood and concrete.

The Sigma Arm is also equipped with touch probing, non-contact tube or laser probes, and various software options, including Hexagon Metrology’s PC-DMIS software package. Nine sizes, ranging in spherical diameter from 71" to 203", with volumetric accuracies ranging from 25 microns to 100 microns (depending upon the size of the arm) are available. Complete packages include the arm, probes, computer, software and carrying case.
