SIC Marking’s E-mark “all-in-one” marking gun features a built-in marking head, programming keypad and 18-V lithium-ion battery for portability. The battery can hold its charge for as long as 4 hrs. (or 500 markings) under normal circumstances. According to the company, the gun’s ergonomic design and light weight make it comfortable to hold and operate. Designed for industrial applications, the marking gun has a cast aluminum body for the best weight-strength ratio and a membrane keypad that can withstand harsh environments. The lack of cables eliminates shock or trip hazards.

Featuring a 60 × 25-mm marking window and a tungsten-carbide stylus, the gun quickly indents alphanumeric text, logos and data matrix codes directly onto substrates ranging from plastic to tough metals. A locking knob eases adjustment of the stylus/part distance to improve marking results. According to the company, the optional front-end support makes it possible to mark areas that were previously inaccessible including large parts that cannot be moved.

The company’s software features icon-driven menus and the top-mounted keypad eases character entry. The screen is configured so that the marking displayed is at the same scale as the marking to be indented to provide a better visual preview of the programming line. E-mark also features a software interface for managing files from a PC.
