Hexagon Metrology offers the Romer Absolute Arm, a portable, 3D measuring solution that incorporates absolute encoders to simplify the inspection process. This technology eliminates the need to initialize the encoders, the company says. Instead, users switch the machine on and start measuring.
The lightweight measuring arm is ergonomically designed. Additional grip positions and a balanced main tube ensure operator productively without fatigue during inspection, the company says. WiFi capability and high-capacity rechargeable batteries enable wireless operation. Two levels of precision and seven arm lengths, measuring between 1.5 and 4.5 m, are available. The measuring arm performs 3D inspections of a variety of industrial parts, particularly in metal and plastic machining applications.
