Originally titled 'Optical Coating System Suited for Small Batches'
Power Vision’s PV Precision is a small-batch optical coating system suited for low-temperature reactive or non-reactive deposition onto polymers. The flexible, four-port chamber system can accommodate three magnetrons and a plasma source, or four magnetrons.
According to the company, the system incorporates a vacuum-load lock for high throughput and low maintenance while maintaining vacuum conditions suitable for precise and high-quality deposition. Door-to-door time to deposit a typical nine-layer broadband anti-reflection (BBAR) coating is approximately 20 min. Special substrate tooling can be provided to maximize coating throughput and accommodate specific component types.
PV Precision uses a patented magnetron sputtering process to deposit coatings and a plasma source to provide in-situ plasma cleaning as well as in-process ion bombardment. A low-temperature oxide process is designed to coat temperature-sensitive materials such as CR39, polycarbonate and PET.
The system also can be installed with an optional substrate heater that enables high-temperature deposition ranging to 500°C and a meissner trap for vapor-critical processes.
