H.B. Carbide is a subsidiary of Star SU that produces made-to-print tungsten carbide preformed blanks and extrusions that can be cut to length or machined into complex shapes. According to the company, the blanks and extrusions have minimal grind stock and reduce the amount of time and energy needed to produce finished tools and wear parts.
The choices of shapes and features include rods, rectangles or squares, coolant holes, straight or angled cross holes, stepped diameters, male or female centers, flats, chamfers, keyways, complex shapes, and preformed sharpening angles.
