The Equator gaging system is a low-cost inspection device capable of high speed comparative inspection for high-volume parts manufacturing on the shop floor. The lightweight, repeatable gage is said to offer push-button simplicity and can switch between parts in seconds. Using a parallel kinematic structure, the Equator offers high speed scanning and rapid moves between features, while retaining stiffness that delivers point-to-point repeatability. The system is based on the traditional comparison of production parts to a reference master part. Reconfiguration to accommodate part design changes or to measure new parts is possible in a fraction of the time needed for conventional custom gaging, the company says.
