Tapeswitch will exhibit its Programmable Control Unit (PCU), part of a modular system designed for the integration of fully programmable safety control across multiple safety devices and machinery locations. Intended to be a less-expensive upgrade alternative to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), the unit can manage programming of logic control functions for a variety of safety devices, including multiple combinations of mats, edges, bumpers, laser scanners, light curtains and photocells, among others.
The modular PCU/1 main control unit can accept a total of 14 expansion modules, creating a system with as many as 128 inputs, 16 dual-channel safety outputs and 16 status outputs for machine safety configurations, devices and networks. The company also offers a main unit with an integrated PCUEU/1 expansion unit for additional fail-safe devices.
