Designed for automated production environments, the GA-26T cylindrical grinding machine performs high-volume OD grinding. While the workpiece is held stationary, the grinding wheel traverses back and forth. Equipped with features designed to enhance the automation process, the rigid grinder provides simultaneous dressing and loading and fixed table construction. The rigid hydrodynamic wheel spindle provides high surface finishes and eliminates chipping of brittle materials such as carbides and ceramics as well as dulling at the edges of splines and other intermittent shaft surfaces. Additionally, the spindle includes an offset radial load equal to 1 µm per 100 kg (0.000018" per 100 lbs) and a rotating accuracy of 0.01 µm (0.0000004"). Available in both angle and plain head, the machine’s design supports cost-effectiveness for production lines of small- to mid-size parts.
