The THL300 and THL400 robots from Toshiba Machine’s THL series feature arm lengths of 300 and 400 mm, respectively. The robots fall into the class of small SCARA robots and offer a maximum payload capacity of 5 kg. The robots are well-suited for small parts handling and assembly, including cellular phones, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, small automotive parts and consumer products.

The robots are equipped with lightweight die cast aluminum arms. The robots’ lightweight construction is said to improve efficiency and reduce costs for system integrators, as they require minimal supporting and vibration suppression elements. The robots’ cycle times with a 2-kg payload are 0.48 sec. The machines are equipped with Toshiba’s TSL3000 controller which includes USB compatibility with Field Bus available as an option.
