The SBB-24 spiral-bottom, round-bowl finishing machine features a full-circle baffle that keeps parts in the media mass for faster, more precise processing, the company says. Its tank measures 24 cu. ft. to accommodate large parts, which are protected by a 1" thick polyurethane lining. Parts are separated automatically from the abrasive media at predetermined intervals according to finishing requirements. The separating screen surface is long to speed part separation and machine unloading.
Additionally, the machine can lift and move various parts over the separating dam without jamming or causing parts to hit one another on the screen. The tub can also serve as a through-feed or one-pass machine when the dam is held in the “up” position.
The spiral design enables an uphill tub bottom that provides a large rolling mass right to the screen area. This enables large parts to be lifted up the dam and over the screening area. Greater clearance between the screen and tub bottom also facilitates processing of large parts.
Specifications include a 20-hp, 1,800-rpm motor, a 17.5" diameter tub cross section, an overall diameter of 73" and a height of 52". The machine measures 96" long, excluding the electrical control box, and 82" wide.
