The Lean Selection machine available from Erwin Junker Machinery is suitable for grinding camshafts in any batch size. The grinder is designed to perform rough and finish grinding in a single clamping setup to save time and increase accuracy. The machine grinds cams and bearings with flexibility and uses the orbital grinding method to support non-cylindrical grinding. It features CBN abrasive and oil coolant with grinding technology and offers cutting speeds of approximately 140 m/sec. as well as high feed rates resulting in short cycle times, says the company.
According to the company, the high-power grinding spindle with 42-kW drive capacity is low-maintenance because it contains lifetime lubrication and air seal. The machine comes with the option of manual loading and contains user-friendly CNC controls that have a three-point mounting interface to promote fast change-over and grinding wheel concentricity.
