Nidec-Shimpo’s EJ series servo grade worm gearboxes, available in both planetary and cycloidal models, are designed for the rugged environments encountered in machining applications. The gearboxes provide high performance within the compact footprint of a right-angle worm gear.

Each series incorporates a globoidal worm gear mesh design in order to achieve high-torque handling capacity and levels of precision down to zero backlash. According to the company, the gearboxes are designed for challenging motion control applications.  A variety of mounting options are available, including hollow shaft, solid shaft, flange mount and shrink disc.
