SME and 3D Systems have collaborated on the M.Lab21 program, an initiative to bring additive manufacturing technologies to high school industrial arts and vocational education classes. 3D Systems will provide technology “starter kits,” including its Touch haptic 3D mouse, Sense 3D scanner, prosumer desktop printers and Cubify design software. SME says it will work with industry experts to identify the knowledge and skills necessary for the next-generation workforce and develop the curriculum based on those needs.
M.Lab21 also will provide access to an online network for students, educators and prospective employers to connect directly on skills requirements and lesson plans.
