According to the company, users can create accurate, fully associative stock models at any point in the machining process to view and verify work progress, perform comparisons and choose existing stock for rest machining.

The software’s new Blade Expertfunction  is designed to simplify toolpath creation for multi-bladed parts including fans, propellers, impellers, turbines, marine screws and others. There is no limit to the number of blades, splitters, or sub-splitters that can be programmed, the company says. A variety of multi-axis roughing strategies are also included. Automatic tool-axis control smoothes machine motion.

The 3D high speed tool path performs rest-milling operations to remove remaining material with optimized roughing motion. The tool path can use the stock-model functionality to define stock-removal areas.

3D high speed hybrid tool paths maintain all Z-level cuts in steep areas of parts while filling in shallow areas with scallop motion within a single Z section. These tool paths use waterline (constant Z) motion and scallop where needed. Both waterline and scallop motion can be used at the same Z section, section after section, to improve finish and tool use efficiency.
