Solid Carbide Drills For Precise Holes

New Product Announcements From: 6/1/2007 Modern Machine Shop
Iscar offers a family of three-flute, solid carbide drills for precision hole-making applications. Able to achieve IT8 hole tolerance, the drills are available in diameters ranging from 3 to 20 mm, with or without coolant holes. Length-to-diameter ratio is 5×D. They are made from grade IC908, IC08 submicron substrate and a TiAlN coating. While the drills are useful for nonferrous metals, the cutting edge geometry enables them to work with steel, stainless steel, cast iron and other materials as well, the company says. The drills’ three-flute design makes them conducive to applications requiring high hole cylindricity, roundness, straightness and surface finish. In addition, they are useful for applications requiring sloped entry or exit or minimal hole deviation.
