The EcoCCore solvent-based part cleaning system from Dürr Ecoclean features two flood tanks, heat recovery and full-flow plus bypass filtration capabilities. The work chamber is designed to hold cleaning tanks as large as 670 × 480 × 400 mm, offering one-third more loading volume than the predecessor 81C/P system and enabling throughput to be as much as doubled, depending on the basket size. Maximum load weight capacity also has been increased by more than 30 percent to 200 kg. Cycle time is less than 8 minutes, reducing per-unit cleaning costs.
The system features a preliminary steam degreasing process whereby oil-containing distillate is directed straight into the distilling system, minimizing oil deposits in the flood tank and oil enrichment of the solvent. This is said to result in enhanced degreasing performance that can be particularly beneficial with parts to be coated or laser-welded after cleaning.
EcoCCore also features the capability to use ultrasound and filtration simultaneously so that particles are effectively discharged throughout the process cycle, unlike in conventional systems where they can settle at the bottom of the work chamber before being filtered. Internal heating elements also have been removed from the stainless steel flood tanks, eliminating the potential for particle trap points or chip accumulation and thereby reducing re-contamination of parts.
For increased efficiency, both flood tanks are heated entirely with thermal energy recovered from the distilling circuit. A process based on jacket heating that is fully decoupled from the distilling system ensures optimized, gentle oil evaporation, eliminating oil encrustation, which requires costly and time-consuming cleaning. The level control system also effectively prevents a carryover of preserving medium, thereby reducing its consumption.
