Dovetail holders, Davenport-specific 5/8" holders and circular holders for Browne & Sharpe and Davenport machines are offered with either a 0-degree top rake angle for cutting nonferrous materials or a 5-degree top rake angle for cutting ferrous metals.

The inserts can fit forms as much as 1-1/4" width. The STAs use a simple, yet rugged, spacer as opposed to requiring an expensive custom-made, screwed-on anvil, the company says.

The system offers the ability to purchase an EDM/grinding fixture as well as the insert blanks. This will allow users to greatly reduce lead time by making their own formed inserts in-house.

The STA single-usage insert and holder system can be sent on a trial basis where the holder can be returned for credit if the user is not completely satisfied.
