Heidenhain’s TNC 128 straight-cut CNC is designed for use with milling, drilling and boring machines. The control is said to be user-friendly with helpful graphics, practical prompts, and machining and coordinate transformation cycles during program creation. NC conversational keys on the operating panel ease program entry. The compact control features an integrated 12.1" TFT color flat-panel display, which is housed in a stainless steel operating panel along with the TNC and the main computer featuring a Celeron dual-core 1.4 GHz CPU.
The CNC can control as many as four axes and one spindle, or as many as five axes if the spindle is configured in an open loop. Touch probes and edge finders also can be connected. An integrated Ethernet interface enables quick connection to company networks, ensuring efficient data transmission. Internet access is also available. Input units, display units and removable storage media are connected via the USB interface, which includes 2 USB 3.0 ports on the rear side and 1 USB 2.0 on the front. The control also features a 2 GB CFR memory card and can be equipped with a PLC basic program adapted to the machine with the PLCdesign development software.
