Kennametal’s high-performance HSS-E-PM (powder metal) Beyond taps are designed for large-diameter tapping. Applications include wind turbine components such as hubs, rings and gearbox housings.
With a wear-resistant powder metal substrate and proprietary top layers and coatings, the taps increase performance in tapping steel and cast iron components. The taps are available in sizes ranging from M24 to M42.
Designed for both conventional non-rigid and CNC-synchronous tapping machines, the taps’ precision h6 shanks enable them to be used in conventional tap holders with square drives and in precision round toolholders. An extra-long version is available.
