Rego-Fix will showcase its retrofit ReCool through-coolant system, said to be a fast, cost-effective and low-maintenance means of adding the benefits of internal cooling to live tooling used in CNC turning operations. According to Rego-Fix, the product converts an existing tooling system to include through-coolant in as little as two minutes, and is more effective in getting coolant to the cutting edge than spray pipes or nozzles.
The ReCool system effectively removes heat from the cutting zone and promotes better surface finishes, longer tool life, improved chip control and increased productivity overall, the company says. Live tools featuring external threads (ISO 15488/DIN 6499) are said to machine faster and last longer when equipped with the ReCool system. It is capable of achieving speeds ranging to approximately 12,000 rpm and pressures as much as 1,000 psi. Higher speeds and coolant pressures are available upon request.
The system also works in conjunction with Rego-Fix collets, sealing and coolant flush discs, milling cutters, and drills with diameters ranging from 0.098" to 1.2". It also offers simple structure and special lubricated bearings, which are designed to make it an affordable, low-maintenance internal cooling system.
