Liebherr’s high-performance LC 500 universal hobbing machine handles workpiece diameters ranging to 500 mm. Designed for general mechanical engineering applications, commercial vehicle gears and construction machinery, the machine is said to improve productivity and increase flexibility.
The machine features a fully encapsulated workspace and spur gears as well as a one-piece machine bed. It can be equipped with either a self-cooling spur gear or water-cooled direct drive in the table. Large table bores facilitate the installation of clamping cylinders for workpiece clamping devices.
The machine is available with both automatic and manual operation modes, depending on the user’s requirements. Configuration options include coating, automation, drives, cutting heads and additional software modules. An angular gear attachment is available for worm cutting.
