Kardex Remstar’s Megamat RS model 650 vertical carousel is designed heavy parts. It can accommodate as much as 1,433 lbs per carrier with a total unit load of 41,887 lbs.
The carousel is designed for metalworking operations storage. It is available in widths ranging from 10.42 to 13 ft., depths ranging from 5.14 to 5.62 ft. and heights from 7.75 to 32.85 ft. Carriers can be equipped with inserts, rollout drawers, intermediate shelves, partitions, dividers and specialty holders to create an ergonomic solution for storing and retrieving heavy parts, the company says.
The carousel works on the goods-to-person concept, presenting stored goods to the operator to eliminate the walk and search time associated with standard shelving. With the push of a button, carriers within the enclosed unit rotate around vertically to deliver stored goods to the operator through one or more access openings. The carousel is available as a freestanding solution or can be integrated with an existing WMS or ERP system.
