The FSP-80V vertical spindle five-axis profiler machines hard metals, including titanium, Inconel, stainless steel and more. It is designed for medium- to small-sized workpieces.
For stability in cutting hard materials, this profiler is equipped with a 30/22 hp (22/18.5 kw) gear-driven spindle with 1,185 Nm of continuous spindle torque. The machine utilizes the Big Plus spindle adaption system.
The table size of the profiler is 31.5" × 78.7" (800 × 2,000 mm). The machine has a table carrying weight capacity of 8,800 lbs (4,000 kg). Feed rates (rapid/cutting) are 787/393 ipm (20/10 m/min) for the X and Y axes; and 393/196 ipm (10/5 m/min) for the Z axis. The A axis offers ± 30 degrees swivel saddle rotation and the B axis offers ± 30 degrees head rotation. Each axes of the machine is lined with Turcite. With double pinion-driven A/B axis rotation, the profiler is designed for continuous five-axis machining, the company says.
For protection from flying chips and coolant, the machine features a splashguard that surrounds the perimeter of the machine. A coolant system provides “thru the spindle” and flood coolant delivery. A Fanuc 31i-A5 CNC system with Fanuc servomotors and drives is also included. The machine comes with a 40-position ATC.
