From Bulova's line of vertical machining centers (VMC) is the VMC 4220, featuring boxway construction on all three axes to provide maximum power, speed and accuracy, the company says. The VMC’s oversized box ways have a Turcite lining to support rigidity and damping, promoting better part finishes and increased tool life.
A 3.9" × 34.6" table top spindle nose (30.7" Z-axis travel) enables the addition of rotary table without the need for a column riser. It provides a maximum spindle power of 20 hp with a continuous speed of 15 hp at 12,000 rpm. The machine’s footprint measures 125" × 96" and its height is 120". According to the company, the machine is well-suited for the medical and energy industries.
