Sharp has expanded its vertical machining center (VMC) line with its SVL-4525 and SVG-6335A for moldmaking and heavy-duty cutting applications, respectively.
With its linear roller ways and XYZ travels of 45" × 25" × 20", the SVL-4525 VMC suits die/mold manufacturers and job shops with high performance requirements. The machine features a CAT 40 Big Plus/10,000-rpm spindle, with 12,000- and 15,000-rpm options available. The 25-hp machine has a maximum rapid traverse rate of 1,417 ipm (36 m/min.).
The SVG-6335A gearhead VMC supports heavy cutting with an 8,000-rpm, CAT 50-taper spindle driven directly by a two-speed gearbox using no drive belts. It has XYZ travels of 63.00" × 34.64" × 27.60".
