The Edge X-5 five-axis waterjet from Jet Edge cuts taper-free workpieces, such as impellers and bevels as large as 50, from most materials. Its design separates the motion system from the catcher tank, eliminating vibration. The ballscrew-driven waterjet features direct-couple AC brushless digital servomotors and single or double carriages. Critical bearing components are protected with metal covers with brush seals and positive air pressure. The waterjet is controlled by an industrial PC and is available in many sizes.
The company will also display a selection of its other waterjet equipment. Its Boss-Cutter waterjet cuts workpieces as thick as 6" from most materials and includes FlashCut Pro-Series Stepper Controller, FlashCutCNC software and IGEMS path generation software. The X-Stream xP90-100 waterjet intensifier pump produces 90 ksi (6,200 bar) and supports 75 ksi (5,200 bar) continuous operating pressure for flow rates ranging to 1.45 gpm (5.49 L/m). The Eco-Jet direct-drive waterjet pump produces much as 1 gpm (3.78 L/m ) of 55 ksi (3,800 bar) high-pressure water and can power most waterjet cutting systems and tools.
