GF Machining Solutions will exhibit its CUT 200 Dedicated wire EDM for aerospace, die/mold and medical applications. The machine features a built-in, A/B (tilt/rotary) table to ease cutting of complex aerospace alloy components, such as turbine disks, using B-axis rotation and a ±20-degree A-axis tilt. Axis travel in X, Y and Z is 350 × 220 × 220 mm. In-process inspection includes a measuring probe and supporting software. To reduce non-cut times, the EDM is designed for fast axis speeds and quick, reliable wire threading, the company says. AgieCharmilles spark generators enable cutting speeds as fast as 38 in.2/hr. (400 mm2/min.) and 30-degree tapers in the Z-axis height, while also producing fine surface finishes and eliminating recast layers and micro-cracks. Additionally, energy-saving functionality and software promote system connectivity and reduced operation costs.
