This slide show offers examples of some new technologies and products on display at the 2011 Taiwan International Machine Tool Show.

The BMP 1416B horizontal boring mill from YCM has a rotary table measuring 1,400 mm by 1,600 mm and 500 mm of W-axis reach.
This large VTC from Wele Mechatronic Co. is an example of how Taiwanese machine tool builders are increasing the capabilities of their equipment. The VTC-2500H, which can mill, turn and grind, won the top award for the show’s Excellence in R&D contest.
The Mega5 G from Awea is a five-axis, gantry-type machine is designed for large, complex components. It can be purchased with a high-torque 12,000-rpm spindle or high-horsepower 24,000-rpm spindle.
Leadwell, part of the Fair Friend Group, displayed its TM-1500 turn-mill, which offers -10 through +230 degrees of B-axis rotation and a 12,000-rpm spindle.
The actual version of this double-column grinding machine from Kent was too large for the show. The largest version offers table area of 1,500 x 4,200 mm.
The two-spindle TFH 200BP from TongTai has a total of four B-axis rotary tables and can perform simultaneous machining on two workpieces.
The Ding-Koan DV 3000 MT vertical turning center has a table measuring 3 meters in diameter to accommodate large workpieces.
Luren’s LFG-8040 vertical gear profile grinding machine offer 8 CNC axes and has integral part probing for accurate production of complex components.
The DMV-2000 from Dahlih has a number of features to facilitate accurate, five-axis machining, including a tool tip collision interference function, collision retract system and spindle thermal compensation.
The five-axis, 15,000-rpm Pinnacle BX700 offers +/- 120 degrees of B-axis spindle rotation and a 630-mm-diamter C-axis rotary table.
The You Ji HFB 150 horizontal boring mill offers XYZ travels of 5,000 x 3,000 x 800 mm and W-axis stroke of 750 mm.
Fortune’s five-axis Vturn-X200 turn-mill is a two-spindle machine with a nine-station turret and B-axis with 30 hp/12,000 rpm spindle.
Wire EDM machines from Chmer like this model have an air-conditioned enclosure and a thermally balanced structure for accurate EDM work.
Femco’s NVL-12 vertical turning and milling machine that offers maximum bed swing diameter of 1600 mm, maximum turning height of 1300 mm and table capacity of 8 tons.
The two-pallet Litz LH 1000B horizontal boring machine offers maximum pallet capacity of 3,000 kg.
Soco won an award for its 12-axis SR-series CNC booster benders offering tube capacity of 130 mm.
Hiwin highlighted a number of its motion control products with this robotic piano playing demonstration.
