Established in 1941 by Harold Stokey, Allied Machine & Engineering Corp. entered the 1950s as a job shop, manufacturing tapered bearing lock nuts and accessories. Allied introduced a more effective universal-style spade drill in the 1960s, breaking new ground for the industry with patented developments in blade locking and particle metallurgy. In the 1980s, Allied pioneered innovative spade drill geometry and coatings that took hole-making to a level never before seen by the metal-cutting industry. Allied also offers the BT-A Drill Replaceable Tip Single Tube BTA Tool. This innovative tool introduces T-A® replaceable tip technology to the BTA deep hole drilling market. The unique design of the new BT-A Drill uses Allied's T-A® drilling system inserts, including GEN2 T-A® to maximize penetration rates and tool life. Helical and straight fluted holder options allow for 3x, 5x, and 7x diameter-to-length ratios. Replaceable-tip drill inserts available in C1 & C2 substrates. GEN3SYS® inserts are coated in AM200® proprietary coating, to ensure longer tool life.
