Carr Lane has introduced several new toggle clamps with a built-in safety lock. These latch-action clamps have a lock which automatically engages when the clamp is closed, then remains locked until manually disengaged by pressing a lever before opening. The safety lock prevents the latch clamp from being accidentally opened by bumping the handle.
Available in four sizes, from 700 to 7500 lbs holding capacity. These new models, CL-200-LPA, CL-300-LPA, CL-400-LPA, and CL-500-LPA, all have a threaded U bolt for adjustability and a matching latch plate. Made of durable high-grade steel (also available in stainless steel). All Carr Lane toggle clamps have a comfortable handle grip.

A sturdy shoulder on these spring-loaded plungers provides a fixed seating position and positively resists detent force.
The new plungers come in light or heavy force, 6 sizes each, in steel or stainless steel, with a stainless or Delrin® ball. They are useful when a threaded hole would be impractical and/or adjustment is not required.

New Variloc® Adjustable Locking Hubs, in stainless steel or plastic, are available from Carr Lane Mfg. Co. These high strength hubs are positive locking at exact increments...10 or 15 degrees, depending on the model.
Applications include adjustable or rotating fixtures, welding fixtures, trunnion mounting, adjustable and/or foldable handles, adjustable part trays and shelves, adjustable and/or flip-up work surfaces, positive positioning of spotlights or nozzles, and collapsable structures.
Medical applications include folding and adjustment mechanisms for wheelchairs. The hubs can also act as an end effector on medical equipment to allow the operator to change the angle of operation. Panels can easily be flipped out of the way with a simple push button activation, improving ergonomics of machine control panels, vehicle workstations and touch screen adjustment. In fact, the hubs allow versatility whenever a design requires adjusting, reclining or folding, and are compatible with standard tubing.
Steel and Stainless Steel Adjustable Locking Hubs are each available in two different styles, including an inline version, which allows locking anywhere within 220°, and an offset version, which allows full 360° rotation. Once locked, the hub becomes an absolutely rigid joint, able to withstand 80 ft.-lbs. of torque (5:1 safety factor).
Plastic Locking Hubs are lightweight and economical, and withstand 7 ft.-lbs. of torque.
In the unlocked position, the hub is free to rotate. Hub extensions and a variety of mounting options are available.

The Ball Lock Mounting System from Carr Lane allows accurately locating and clamping at the same time, with just the twist of a hex wrench.
Ideal for mounting quick-change tooling on a subplate, this compact assembly provides considerable hold down force, together with an incredible ±.0005 inches repeatability!
Turning the clamping screw with a hex wrench advances the large center ball, pushing the three clamping balls outward. These balls engage the angled ID of the Receiver Bushing, pulling the entire unit firmly downward.
Each mount consists of three components: (1) a Ball Lock Clamp with a precisely ground shank; (2) a Liner Bushing in the top plate; (3) a Receiver Bushing in the subplate. All three components come in a wide variety of sizes.

Ball Lock and Detent Pins Offer Precision Alignment

Carr Lane’s variety of quick-release pins offer precision alignment for many manufacturing, tooling, and assembly applications. Ball Lock Pins, the most popular type, have a precisely ground shank available in many diameters and grip lengths. These quick-release pins are positive locking until released by pushing a button, which moves the center spindle to allow the locking balls to retract into a radial groove.
Ball Lock Pins are available single or double acting, in several handle styles, or in an adjustable grip length version. The Ball Lock Mounting System allows accurately locating and clamping at the same time, with just the twist of a hex wrench, and is ideal for mounting quick-change fixture plates on a subplate.
Also featured are spring-loaded detent pins, and expanding pins with a positive cam action that expands split bushings to lock the pin in place. Lifting pins, which are single-acting ball lock pins with a one-piece body and four balls for high tension loads, are also featured. The lifting pin’s sturdy forged shackle allows for heavy lifting.
Carr Lane recently introduced ball lock and detent pins for marine and other corrosive environments. View them in the online catalog at carrlane.com.
