Graphic Products North America Inc. (Windsor, Ontario) CAM-TOOL Version 5.0 Release www.camtool.com Graphic Products North America Inc. (Windsor, Ontario) will be releasing the latest version of its Elite CAD/CAM Software CAM-TOOL Version 5.0. In order to simplify communication the terms V3 and MX will be now referred to as Options instead of different products. CAM-TOOL Version 5.0 will be released near the end of July 2009. This latest Version will be on display at the Mold Making Expo 2009 at McCormick Place. This CAD/CAM Software is specially developed for Mold and Die Machining and used for High Speed Machining, Hard Milling, and Medical Applications. The Tool paths that are created by CAM-TOOL?s CAM Engine are special in comparison to others. Watching these tool paths run at your machine tool is the best way to see how much smoother you machine will run compared to your usual tool paths. Be sure to prove out CAMTOOL paths in your own steel before you buy. Micro Machining and Hard Milling both require a special kind of Tool path. The general machining software that exists is unable to output tool paths that adequately protect the tool from overheating or breaking. If you are going to machine 60 HRC Material and/or use tools as small as .004?, the tool path output must be perfect. With the release of Version 5.0 there will be many Improvements and New Tool Path Strategies. The 2nd level of the release of MX-S5 is available for the Mold and Die Makers requiring a 5 Axis Simultaneous output to minimize Length to Diameter ratios of tooling. Included will be a special Z-Level Finishing path that is capable of machining Undercuts and also a Swarf Cutting Profile. A CL Editor that is capable of turning 3 Axis Tool Paths into 5 Axis Simultaneous tool paths simplifies the learning curve. Very little additional training is required to make the step up. A new Tool Path Profile named ?3D Offset Cutting? will allow a more efficient ?staying on the surface? machining for larger tooling. ?Z-Level Finishing (Polygon) will be available to more efficiently machine larger tools and also decrease calculation time. For those users that have the need to CNC Machine STL geometry, this capability will now be part of this release. APT output will now also be available for output, to be used in conjunction with Simulation Software as required.
